DIVER product line
Groundwatermonitoring
Groundwater is the primary source of water for people, industry and nature. All over the world we face serious problems such as water depletion, excess water (flooding), salinization and a shortage of clean drinking water. Frequent, reliable measuring of the groundwater situation forms the basis for solving these problems. Monitoring the groundwater levels is now more important than ever! The Diver* produced by Van Essen Instruments is the ideal tool for doing so.
Reliable
CTD-DIVER with DRC
The Diver is the most reliable instrument for the automatic measurement and registration of the groundwater level and temperature. The housing contains the pressure sensor, the temperature sensor, the memory and the battery. It is only 125 mm long and 22 mm in diameter, so it fits easily in almost every existing monitoring well.
The proven concept
The experiences of the thousands of Diver users all over the world confirm that the choice made by Van Essen Instruments for the hermetically sealed design was right. It makes the Diver insensitive to moisture or extreme electrical influences (Faraday cage).
The Diver is easy to install in the monitoring well with a steel wire or Direct Read Cable (DRC)**. After installation, the monitoring system is completely invisible above ground, keeping the risk of vandalism to a minimum. The Diver automatically measures and registers the groundwater level and temperature in the internal memory (24,000 measurements). This means you could can conduct a measurement every ten minutes for six months before the memory is full. A measurement consists of the date and time, water level and temperature. The built-in battery lasts approximately 8-10 years. The Diver measures the groundwater level with a highly accurate pressure sensor, with the 'weight' of the water column above the instrument being the determining factor. However, variations in the prevailing air pressure influence the measurement. An additional Diver is required at each measurement site to measure these variations, and Van Essen Instruments has developed the BaroDiver specifically for this purpose. The air pressure variations are compensated for quickly and easily using the LoggerDataManager software program. This is Van Essens idea of sturdy and reliable!
Programming and reading out data
The Diver produced by Van Essen Instruments comes with the LoggerDataManager software package. Do you want to take measurements several times an hour, once a day or use the special pumping test options? It's all possible. Program the Diver to meet your own requirements and you will see the information in exactly the way you need it. The Diver is easy to program using a readout unit and a PC or laptop. It is easy to read out Divers installed in the field using the DiverMate and a DRC. To read out the data, the DiverMate is hooked up to the DRC at the rim of the monitoring well. The Diver is connected to the other end of the DRC and remains in the well. The DiverMate can be used to read out a series of Divers in a readout cycle. The files are then transferred from the DiverMate to a computer. The rest of the processing procedure is done by LoggerDataManager.
